PHOTOS? ARE THEY THE BEST GIFT FOR NEW PARENTS...
Newborn Photographer, Ashurst near the New Forest
A few weeks ago I travelled to Ashurst, near to the New Forest to meet Helen, Matt and their newborn baby boy, Luca.
Helen was given a gift voucher for a Newborn Photo Shoot by her work colleagues when she left her job to start maternity leave in December last year. They obviously knew that Helen and her husband Matt very well. i was told they both loved photography and they make little photo albums of their trips and special moments each year and don't just have hudreads and thosands of photos on hard drives and phones like most of us do. Helens work decided that some photographs of them all together as a family would make the perfect leaving present rather than things that the baby would out-grow or that would eventually be thrown away of passed on. This way they had something tangible thatt they could keep forever , and I for one couldn’t agree more! I think every family should recieve the gift of photos, its something that will last a life time.
Thankfully for me, although Helen wasn’t aware of this gift she was a fan of my relaxed photography style and was really thankful she didn’t need to pose for the camera. With a very happy baby we were able to capture some wonderful moments of them all together whilst Matt was on leave from work.
Their home was so beautiful, lots of incredible light rooms and even some amazing dual aspect windows which I just loved! Luca’s nursery wasn’t just a hit with me either! Indie the dog took full advantage of being allowed to follow us upstairs and into Luca’s room. She was quiet the fan of the baby’s play mat. Not wanting to be too far from Helen,Indie settled herself down next to the nursery feeding chair to keep a close eye on them both and posed so beautifully for me.
I am so privileged to be able to go into people’s homes at this special time, and to be able to photograph them together as a family with their newborn baby. I try and keep it relaxed as possible, lots of chatting and tea drinking is essential. Nobody enjoys being in front of the camera and I am always working with my family to keep things as awkward free!
Thank you so much Helen and Matt for being so amazing, here’s a few of my favourites photographs from their newborn photo session.
