Instagram is a wonderful thing, as a tool to maintain friendships, share photos, build a business and even network with other like-minded individuals.
That is exactly what happened this year when I happened upon The Little Coach House on Instagram last year. With beautiful handmade learning resources, I wanted to ow for my boys, who were similar ages to their children, and potentially a crossover of clients it was a match made in heaven. Over a few months we chatted back and forth. When I needed some help with a maternity portfolio shoot Jenny was kind enough to allow me into her home to photograph her and her lovely boys back in February this year.
I am big advocate of small family run businesses as I know Jenny and Andy are. They also work super hard whilst raising a young family at home to build an amazing business to support them. They both work full time for the business , throwing their heart and soul into making this successful.
So, when we met at a recent autumn mini session, they had booked with me and they mentioned that had been accepted on ‘Not On The High Street’ I was s thrilled for them. I knew what a huge achievement this was. Furthering their reach, and taking this business to the next level.
After our photoshoot they explained that they wanted to get some product photos of their range of wooden learning resources to showcase them in a “lifestyle” style for NOTHS and asked if I was up for the challenge.
Naturally I jumped at the chance to help them out and having watched them grow from a few thousand followers on Instagram to nearly 15k and now with the coveted spot on the 'NOTHS'
website I was truly honoured to be asked.
The product shoot itself was just the craziest full on day, I likened it to shooting a wedding day. With friends and family roped in to help the day run as smoothly as possible.
Together with Jenny and Andy we transformed Gamble Down Farm’s “Cow Shed” from beautiful holiday let, to even more stunning “The Little Coach House” set. With gifted items from many of Jenny’s small business friends, along with half the contents of my plant collection from my home Jenny bought to life her vision. Many, many years of hard work all culminating in this one day. I was certainly feeling the pressure. Although, as the product photoshoot went on I could see Jenny's face light up as these ideas became reality and it was so lovely to not only witness this as a fellow small business owner but as a someone who I can call now call a friend.
